Changes to 7 REC and other Rules

2010-04-15

Due to last minute inclusion of 7 REC in interleague play (ARVB) a few rules failed to get consolidated between BYB and BAYB. A few other league rules required modification also. We accomplished this last night. For details see full story.

Due to last minute inclusion of 7 REC in interleague play (ARVB) a few rules failed to get consolidated between BYB and BAYB. We accomplished this last night.

Effective 22 April all 7 Rec games will use a real baseball (Diamond or Pro-nine DOLA or better). Until 22 March we will play with the saftey balls. Each park will provide safety balls to the Bixby teams. BAYB will trade 1 new official ball for 1 new Pro-nine level 5 safety ball (still in plastic) at no increase in cost for our teams.

Other 7 Rec rules are per the previously published rules as discussed below.

Changes to other leagues:

1. All: Four coaches (signed, certified, and wearing cards, may now be allowed in the fence. Unless identified in other rules all must stay within an arms reach of the dugout or 1 coach in each base coach box.

2. 8 yr olds: An on deck batter is now pernitted, provided they are behind the batter and near the dug out.

All other rules are as written in the 2010 Recreational BAYB, Interleaue, and Warren Spahn Memorial League Rules. These will be updated with the above changes and posted under the coaches corner at baybonline.com .

Other park specific rules may differ (i.e. use of buckets, pets, smoking, etc., but these do not impact play of games. All games should be played by the same rules regardless of park.
