Money for School in Honor of Warren Spahn

We are now accepting applications for the Warren Spahn Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must be associated with BAYB (player, umpire, etc.) and plan to attend a college or university in 2010. See full story.

The Warren Spahn Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding representative of BAYB both on and off the field, to help with costs of tuition, books, and supplies.

The scholarship for 2010 is currently $800 but we are looking for donations to increase this. If your company would like to donate money towards this scholarship please contact us at bayouthbaseball.rec@windstream.net

Applications are due to BAYB by 11 June and may be sent via e-mail, fax, or mail. The scholarship winner will be announced at the player appreciation night, Jun 15th.

Warren Spahn:

The left handed pitcher with the most wins in MLB history and was a long time resident of BA.  He played MLB and coached professional and youth baseball. He also served our country in a time of war. A member of the OK Sports and MLB Hall of Fames. BAYB is proud to award this scholarship in his honor. Stop by and see the memorial monument at the flag pole gate to Fields 5-8 (The Warren Spahn Fields).
